This special meeting was called to order by the CRRG Technical Committee in order to plan and address actions regarding the acquisition of additional equipment and the ultimate installation of the new 2 Meter/70Cm repeater at the Smoky Hill Site.
Mike Mullarkey, K7PFJ, new Tech Committee member, is suggesting a 4 port controller made by S-Comm. Delivery of such can be immediate. Having four ports gives us the flexibility to grow and expand our system. This allows us to link Smoky Hill and Squaw Mountain together. We will also have the flexibility to expand and include IRLP in our operation at some future date.
We need a controller and a duplexer: controller will cost about $600 new. The duplexer will cost around $175. An anonymous benefactor is funding $600 of this upgrade.
The Board voted to take the $175 out of club funds to pay for the duplexer for the Smoky Hill 440Mhz repeater.
Mike will be providing necessary additional materials for the upgrade, along with additional coax and connectors. Mike will donate his time.
Mark will put together Memorandum of Understanding which Jim Blecha, W9KRE will put this in front of the East Cherry Creek Water District to bring clarity to the nature of the relationship between the Water District and CRRG.
We will combine, per the vote of the Board, CRRG checking and savings accounts. Jason to notify Dee.
We voted to donate the old 440 Repeater for Smoky Hill to a group in Arizona. Jim will handle this.
